FFA Chapter tops in state for 6th year

Office of University Relations

The Collegiate FFA chapter was named top collegiate chapter in the state for the sixth consecutive year at the recent Tennessee FFA Alumni State Convention at Montgomery Bell State Park. UT Martin collegiate com- petition team winners were: Whitney Crow, Brighton, first place, agricultural professions; Kris Newsom, Friendship, first place, prepared speaking; Stuart Watson, Dyersburg, first place, agriculture business. The chapter also won first place in chapter scrapbook and first place in convention t-shirt design. Neil Bringle, Ripley, was the recipient of a $500 scholarship from the Tennessee FFA Foundation. Dr. James N. Butler Jr., professor of agricultural education, is Collegiate FFA adviser.
